Back to work

I got home from Yosemite Saturday afternoon and look what Kevin did while I was away.

He and our neighbor Joe took down the fence between our property and will be building a new fence over the next couple of weekends.

That wasn't enough to take on in one weekend, we got crazy and decided to take all of the ivy off of the other garage that sits in our backyard. So, this is it, bare and ugly. I might need a bit of help from my green thumbed friends to make this beautiful!

Before

After - Shannon did an awesome job making our gray elephant look so much better!

Half Dome Skirt Hike '08

A beautiful view of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. I want to make it to the top!

The start. Tara, Ryan, Collette, Clay, Denise, and me - at 6:30am. We were back to camp at 6:30pm.

The Mist Trail, it was beautiful, a bit damp and a bit cold. There was a tremendous amount of water on all of the falls.

Looking toward the cables. Ok, my anxiety was out of control at this moment. What am I doing here??

Cables

Cables

Cables..they keep getting closer and looking more insane.

The Half Dome Marmot - he/she reminded us of Claire. Is it the look in the eyes?

Me & Ryan, playing around acting like we're oblivious to the fact that we're essentially on the edge of the world!

Ryan & Tara at the top, they are fit, confident, fearless, and hecka strong!

A moment to enjoy the view before we head back for the other 6 hours of the hike.

Family can gather and enjoy time with each other almost anywhere!

This hike was amazing, beautiful, scary, thrilling, painful, breathtaking, frightening, hard, and wonderful. It was such a quick trip that I could almost think that I imagined the whole thing. That is IF I didn't hurt so bad. What a day. I am so impressed with the fitness of my kids! It was a once in a lifetime experience for me and I am so glad I MADE IT TO THE TOP!
